Method
1
Slice the bagel in half (toast if desired) and spread with the cottage cheese. Wash the apple, remove the core using an apple corer, then cut into thin slices and arrange on the bagel.
2
Sprinkle the almond sticks over the top, drizzle with honey, and place the top half of the bagel on.
For a weekend treat: Heat approx. 2 tbsp sugar with a pinch of salt and 2 tbsp water in a non-stick pan until it melts and caramelises. Add the flaked almonds and stir well to coat. Transfer to baking paper and allow to cool.PRO TIP
Caution: The sugar burns very quickly and the almonds will be extremely hot after preparation.
Alternatively, toast the almonds in a non-stick pan without oil.
Variation with caramelised apple slices:PRO TIP
Wash the apple, remove the core, and slice very thinly. Melt 1 tbsp butter in a non-stick pan, add 40 g sugar and stir well. The sugar will first clump, then melt. As soon as the caramel turns golden brown, reduce the heat immediately and add the apple slices (caution: hot mixture may splatter). Cook gently on low heat for about 5 minutes, then leave to cool.
